Change is good, and no one knows the power of a great new color or cut until the compliments start rolling in. Your can take this as gospel from the PELLO HAIRDRESSING TEAM as this week the team talk you through what’s trending for colours and cuts for 2019.We will have you all on trend alert and ready to walk the red carpet even before  Oscar mania, so that all you true fashionistas out there  are  well ahead of the game.

SO here’s a little insight into our top hair color and cut trends for the year to come. Spoiler alert: You might want to go blonde and cut your hair after reading this week's column from the Pello Hairdressing Team, and if you’re feeling inspired be sure to pop in to see us in Letterkenny Shopping Centre, for your complimentary consultation with any of our expert colour technicians.

Colours are going to warm up for  2019 — warm-toned hair colors, that is. It’s all about golden, bronzed brunettes and pearl-toned blondes ., “In 2019, we’ll see blondes go deeper , embracing a more neutral look with violet undertones. We’ll see more brunettes brightening up their shades with rich, golden warmth. This is ideal for those that want more brightness but don’t want to go too light.”

Lets start of with the : Pantone’s Color of the Year, which for 2019  is Coral.

This colour translates beautifully to hair. It is perfect for those that want to embrace being a redhead, but with soft, warm, feminine undertones.” It’s a very inviting colour and will lighten up any mood.”says our master colourist Aishling

Just to go one step further this season we offer a service where we can match our lipsticks or lip glosses to you new customised colour .

Patrick is also ready to warm things up in the salon chair. “We have already noticed a lot of warmer colors being embraced by our guests which is always quiet normal in the colder months, which across the color spectrum make the hair look healthy and shiny,”says owner Patrick. “ We all love our Reds in any salon and going forward this year we can make them  as subtle or bold as your  heart desires.

We are also going to  see reds travel across the spectrum with hints of violet, pure red and orange. On the darker levels, colors such as red velvet create a rich elegance, and on the lighter levels, colors like turmeric add vibrancy.”

“I’m so looking forward to getting people into the chair for 2019 “says patrick as I’m definitely feeling short again for this year’s hair inspired looks.

What could be better than cropped hair topped off  with totally vibrant colours inspired by the 80s, to flatter any amazing cut. We’re already seeing a lot of this so far this year.

However adds Aishling  or Artistic Director “We are seeing a growing trend towards women going much shorter, adding fringes, and playing with more layers for an effortless boyish look."

The classical favourite Bob cut is back again with a bang for 2019.As always the bob can be so varied and it’s always a cut that suits women of all ages across the board. We are going to see a lot of middle or centre partings  , sharp classic bob cuts and effortlessly tousled waves for the days that you just want to go from classical polished  Parisian chic to effortlessly casual  chic.

A chin-length bob can be worked into any hair texture, and although it looks particularly excellent with full-on French-girl baby bangs, you don't need to commit to that to get the vibes right. This year you will definitely get loads of Instagram inspiration that you need to go full bob for 2019…
